MEET LAURA BRATT Pronouns: She/Her/Hers
Bringing Transparency, Equity, and Compassion to our SRVUSD Board.
I am the proud parent of four beautiful children currently in San Ramon Valley Unified's Middle and High Schools. My children each approach learning and life in their own way. They have taught me that every person — student, teacher, staff member, administrator, parent and community member — is an individual, has a unique perspective, and has the right to be heard.
A graduate of and advocate for public education, I chose SRVUSD's award-winning schools for my children and I am committed to ensuring that together, we continue to deliver a strong, educational environment for all our students.
I am dedicated to partnering with and being an ally for our broad spectrum of communities, by gathering insight, information, and data so that I can view each issue through the lens of transparency, equity, and compassion, helping our board make the best decision for each specific situation facing our district.
I would be honored to represent Area 3 on the San Ramon Valley Unified School District's Board of Trustees.

Laura's Bio:
A resident of the Dougherty Valley, Laura Bratt is a proud graduate of public schools and the parent of four children currently in San Ramon Valley Unified School District.
Raised by activist parents in a multi-racial family, Laura grew up standing side-by-side with loved ones and feeling the entitlement afforded to her purely based on the color of her skin. She knows what it means to use her privilege to speak up for and support those around her.
A proud and supportive mother to her LGBTQ+ son, Laura has a unique perspective into inclusion and marginalization within our district. She was also the temporary guardian for her niece and saw the high level of support given to her as an at-risk student. Laura also gained insight into her niece's educational experience as a young black woman and how different it has been from her own children.
Laura and her family lived abroad for several years when her children were young. While there, she experienced navigating an unfamiliar educational system without the power of language or comfort in the culture, much like our ESL and immigrant families.
She has been volunteering and serving leadership roles in public schools for the last 12 years including multiple elementary and middle school site councils, on our district’s LCAP Stakeholder Committee, as a Mandarin immersion elementary program Foundation President, on preschool and elementary PTA Boards, and as a classroom and community volunteer.
Laura is a former online instructor, which gives her the knowledge and experience to see remote learning with a growth mind-set rather than the fear of the unknown. She is a marketing and communications professional, having built and managed her own consulting firm for the last 25 years.
As a calm, reflective, and respectful person, Laura will lead problem-solving in a supportive and collaborative way, ensuring that concerns are discussed, questions are heard and answered, and everyone walks away feeling united rather than divided so that we can collectively be dedicated to creating a strong and supportive educational environment for all of our students.
